Stich-ripping is a bitch.

I finally finished taking apart my dress, now that I've actually persisted more than 20 minutes.

slockwoo: Wrist Band Knitting for the March for Women

Iron Jawed Wrist Bands ---- YEAH!!!
Ok knitters...

As some of you may know there is a little march coming up on April 25th in DC. I am speaking of the March for Women's Lives.

The purpose of this march is to demonstrate support for reproductive health and freedom for ALL women. Millions of women, particularly low income women, rural women, women of color and teens face multiple barriers to receiving reproductive health care services. We want all women to have access to safe affordable reproductive health care. This includes birth-control, pre-natal care, and safe abortions.

For the march, I will be knitting millions of purple and gold (lemon yellow) wrist bands. These are the colors of the march and also the colors that were on the flags in the 'Iron Jawed Angels' HBO original movie on Alice Paul.

How cool will it be to see a crowd of women raising their fists clad with a purple and gold feminist wrist bands? -FUUCK YEAH!!

If you want to join me in my efforts, you can follow the pattern in the Stitch 'n Bitch book, just change the colors. or you can email me (airingoutthevulva at hotmail dot com). I can certainly use knitting help to make a million.

To get the bands to the march, you can either bring them with you, send them with a friend or email me about shipping.

I'm using CHEAP yarn for this project.

It is a great way to contribute to the cause if you cannot attend the March.

If we were to stitch and bitch at Starbucks around 7pm on a weeknight this week, what night would be best for all involved?

I'm on break, so my schedule is as open as can be.

Ok crafty Rochestarians...

I have a Kenmore Serger, model no. 791BD that I'm looking to sell. I figured that here would be a good place to start with all the crafty folk who might be able to pass it along if they weren't interested. It's normally $350, I'm looking for $250 O.B.O. Feel free to comment and or email me, meira@livejournal.com.

The Details:
Kenmore 2-Needle, 3 or 4-Thread Serger with Differential Feed Device

Simplified upper knife adjustment, automatic oiling with built-in reservoir, easy lower looper threading and easy transform from regular serging to a rolled hem with moveable chaining finger and all the accessories, and instruction video. It was just recently serviced (as of 1/26/04).

i just posted this in the main rochester community, and i was pointed this direction. :-)
i was wondering if anyone has taken a pottery class at the store on dewey ave. i haven't noticed the name of the store, if no one knows it i'll have to drive by just to get it. but i'm really looking for something crafty to learn and i really liked working with pottery back in my art classes in high school.
